Since breaking off his relationship with McLaren, Daniel Ricciardo has been in the media spotlight. The Honey Badger made a startling return to Red Bull after two years of a dismal run with the Woking-based team. Since then, there have been many rumors about his connection with the entire Milton Keynes team, but yesterday when the 33-year-old was spotted with the team, everything seemed to be going well. However, soon after the car was unveiled, Ricciardo was spotted discussing his new NASCAR ambition.
Red Bull presented the RB19 yesterday in Manhattan. However, the Austrian company announced its new relationship with Ford before the vehicle was shown, and their partnership will begin in 2026. And when Daniel Ricciardo was asked by the road and track if he wanted to use the Ford relationship to his advantage in a NASCAR test. Australia’s flamboyant driver said, ” I’d love to try.”
When asked about a switch to IndyCar after losing his seat with McLaren last year, Riccardo firmly stated that he is not keen on racing ovals, but for him, testing is a different story. Carrying on, he said, “I think racing IndyCar ovals I was a little apprehensive about, but I’d love to test a NASCAR on an oval.”

Daniel Ricciardo will be Red Bull Racing’s third driver in the 2023 season. Since the former McLaren driver joined the Austrian team, many have speculated that he might be seen on the racetrack itself, possibly on the American or Australian circuits, but if not, it is certain that Ricciardo will be seen at team promotional events and assisting the side with RB19 in the simulator.
When Ricciardo was questioned regarding his desire to compete somewhere else, the eight-time Grand Prix winner remarked, “I would say I’m relatively filled up, but currently… if I’m going to race, I’m looking at ’24 back in F1,” he says. “I’m kind of looking forward to some time away from competition in general.”
