It is not an odd occurrence for Formula 1 drivers to hang their boots and move on to other disciplines of racing. Perhaps it all comes down to the love of speed and the adrenaline boost one gets. From world champions like Kimi Raikkonen and Jenson Button moving to NASCAR to the likes of Romain Grosjean finding a new home in the IndyCar series, a plethora of drivers have done it. But can the 7x champion Lewis Hamilton follow suit? If yes, then which series would be lucky enough to host him?

Lewis Hamilton, now 38 years old, will have to hang his boots sooner rather than later. That is just the nature of the sport. While it may or may not happen the next year, considering he is yet to renew his contract, the adieu to F1 is bound to occur. And keeping that in mind, Haas reserve driver Pietro Fittipaldi knows just the place Lewis should venture in.

As quoted by GP Blog, the grandson of 2x GP winner Emerson Fittipaldi said, “If Lewis one day wants to move on from Formula 1, then for sure to be racing in WEC, like Alonso was doing a few years ago, I think he would definitely enjoy it.”

“Yes, I think he would [that he would fit into WEC]. If you’re a racer and you enjoy racing, endurance racing is awesome. But some guys after so many years in F1, all the traveling and everything, maybe they don’t want to race anymore. They stop. So I think it’s more like a personal thing.”

While Fittipaldi has given his verdict, Lewis Hamilton had shown interest elsewhere.

Lewis said, “It’s not a dream for me to go and race in another series, but I am an admirer and a fan of racing and other sports, so I always like to try. It’s an amazing opportunity and I got to swap with Valentino Rossi and try a MotoGP bike. I sometimes watch IndyCar. I’d love to try one of those cars at some stage.”
