High School Memories With Sebastian Vettel Invoke One Question From NASCAR Professional

The 2022 F1 season concluded in Abu Dhabi. The business end of the pinnacle of motorsport has ultimately come to an end, with three drivers losing their seats and one veteran retiring after an illustrious career. As the last race saw Sebastian Vettel get behind the wheel one last time, the NASCAR driver reacted to his retirement with a question!

Josh Bilicki, the NASCAR driver from Wisconsin, took to his official Twitter handle to share his feelings on the German’s retirement. Not only that, but he also had an interesting question.

He wrote, “After Schumacher retired, Vettel was my favorite driver. So dominant at a young age.”

“I used to watch his onboards on F1’s website during high school…may have gotten in trouble a few times for it. Sad to watch his final race today, but at only 35yrs old, think well [We will] see a comeback?”

Bilicki, who used to watch Vettel from his high school days, asked a valid question. However, whether Seb will return in the future is something only he can tell us.

Sebastian Vettel finished his final race inside points as he scrapped one point, finishing in P10. Despite fighting Daniel Ricciardo for P9 for quite some time, the German ultimately had to give up and settle for tenth place. The Abu Dhabi weekend saw Vettel pull out some brilliant qualifying performances as well.

Sebastian Vettel, the four-time world champion, finally retired from the sport he loves. The German has not only been a fan favorite driver in F1 but also a driver who delivered on track. His career statistics and popularity are proof of that.

Vettel has had 300 race entries under his name in over 15 years of racing. He picked up 53 race wins, which is the third-highest in the sport after Lewis Hamilton‘s 103 wins and Michael Schumacher’s 91 wins.

The German maestro also picked up a staggering 122 podiums, 57 pole positions, and 38 fastest laps to wrap up one of the greatest-ever careers in the sport. As he was about to leave the sport, drivers and dignitaries of F1 all came together to say ‘Danke Seb’ (which translates to ‘thank you Seb’) to the legend at the Yas Marina Circuit.
