As the United States Grand Prix’s qualifying session got over, female racing sensation Danica Patrick was given the opportunity to host the post-qualifying interviews. Pole sitter Carlos Sainz, P2 Charles Leclerc, and P3 Max Verstappen were all on the line to be interviewed by the NASCAR star as the Saturday afternoon session concluded.

However, Patrick made a major mistake, and fans took to social media to point it out. Patrick, who was interviewing at the time, was not aware of Charles Leclerc’s grid penalty. This made the 40-year-old former driver misquote Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc’s starting grid position in the interview. She basically asked Max’s expectations for his second-row start tomorrow when he would actually start from P2.

F1 fans were not slow to point the mistake out on Twitter. They tagged the star driver and conveyed to her the mistake she made during the interview. However, she must’ve realized her mistake already by now.

Charles Leclerc took the grid penalty and will start 10 places behind his qualified position on Saturday’s qualification. That makes Max Verstappen come one spot ahead to start alongside pole-sitter Carlos Sainz. Mercedes stars Lewis Hamilton and George Russell start from P3 and P4, respectively, while Sergio Perez goes all the way down to P9 due to an engine penalty.
