Many people do not accept the way Max Verstappen has clinched his maiden title to date. But this year the Dutchman has over shined every driver on the track and won his second title comfortably. The Dutch lion had a record-breaking season. He won 15 races in a year, beating the previous record of 13 set by the greats Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel.

Ferrari, who had arguably the fastest car at the beginning of the season, was unable to match the Dutchman later on. The speed of the Dutch ace grabbed everyone’s attention. With all this, in the podcast, Mitchell Malm gave his view on the ruthless Verstappen.

He said, “The thing, that I think people need to remember about Max and the job he did this season is he didn’t have the fastest car in Formula One until about halfway through. Yeah, but by that point, he’d already basically won the title. He was not getting caught after the French Grand Prix which was race 10 or 11 and at that point, it was still absolutely nip and tuck between Red Bull and Ferrari I think it’s so easy to overlook the quality of his first half of the year.”

He added, “So you look at it over the season, you see the total number of wins, you see the points difference in the championship and you just go, Oh well, you know the best car, you clearly dominated.”

With this, the F1 journalist established that it wasn’t just the car, as most people believed, but also the driver that dominated.

According to Rosberg, Verstappen is already one of the best of all time. The German who was spotted as a guest on Sky Sports’ Any Driven Monday programme said, “It is easy to say now he is going to be one of the best of all time which, even now, he already is if you look at the statistics. A double world champion with all the race wins that he has, more than Alonso now as well, so he is already one of the best of all time.”
