We are in the off-season and F1 drivers are using the time off to vacation and rejuvenate before the start of the 2023 season. Also in the partying and vacationing mood is former F1 boss, Bernie Ecclestone. The F1 mogul is enjoying the blue waters of the Caribbean in his yacht with none other than Sean Combs, aka P. Diddy.

It looks like F1 entities are quite a fan of yachts. We recently saw Lewis Hamilton enjoying himself with Olympian Shaun White and his actor girlfriend Nina Dobrev on a mega-yacht. The Brit’s $243 million ride took him to Antarctica where he went out for a 7-mile run, along the trail that featured penguins and seals. The mega yacht called Octopus boasts a glass-bottomed aquarium, dive center, and underwater robot. It was previously owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and its current owner is the Swedish billionaire Roger Samuelsson.

However, it seems like the 7-time world champion is not the only one from F1 who enjoys a sweet ride in the ocean. As per Daily Mail, Bernie Ecclestone recently spent his time in the pristine waters of the Caribbean island Saint Barthelemy. The place is a perfect vacation spot for the who’s who of the world that own multi-million dollar worth yachts. Bernie took his $9 million boat Force Blue along as well. Also present at the time was American rapper P. Diddy. Diddy took his ride Victorious with him.

Mario Andretti has been vehemently trying to float his own team in F1 for quite some time now. The existing teams, or at least most of them, are not interested in having another competitor on the grid. The reason Mercedes boss Toto Wolff cited was the 10% dilution of the share of the annual prize money among the existing teams. Ecclestone, however, refused to buy the argument recently.

Roger Benoit reported him as saying, “The name Andretti would be very good for the sport, which is now spreading more and more in America. Many teams are simply afraid that they will have to share the billion dollar cake with an eleventh team. But according to the law, only the ten best teams continue to concede. Where is the problem? Up to two years after joining, nothing would change anyway!” [Translated using Google]
