What a start to the season Charles Leclerc is having! The Ferrari driver has impressed everyone with his driving as he came home to finish P2 at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. The Monegasque driver had led most of the race but could not hold on to the challenge of world champion and Red Bull driver Max Verstappen.

He tried his best to defend as long as he could from a charging Verstappen, but the straight-line speed of the Dutch driver was too much for him to handle. It was an almighty battle between old foes as Charles again had a great battle against Max.

Charles Leclerc is pleased with the 2022 regulations after his battle with Max Verstappen

It looked like he would once again prevail, just like he did last week at the Bahrain Grand Prix, but Max passed him in the dying moments of the race. But he came back to regain his position in the final laps of the race but just finished over half a second behind his rival. The Ferrari driver complemented the 2022 regulations, which is allowing closer racing between the cars for longer durations.

Charles said, “The new regulations are definitely working. I was trying to do everything I could. I knew my weakness was in the straights compared to the Red Bull, as they were incredibly quick down the straights.

“Second, to the last corner, I was just trying to break the DRS, and he understood and he braked really early, and then it was a bit of a mess. But I think it was fun. I mean, I like the racing like this and it was much easier to follow than I initially thought, so it’s good,” the Monegasque added.

Charles Leclerc started the race from P2 after finishing behind Red Bull‘s Sergio Perez. The Ferrari driver looked quick throughout the weekend and led every practice session in Jeddah.

Charles would have been a little nervous before the start of the race, as there were some issues with his teammate Carlos Sainz‘s car. But, fortunately for him, no such issues were found in his SF-75.
