A sad news breaks ahead of the U.S Grand Prix this year. The Red Bull founder, Dietrich Mateschitz, passed away at the age of 78 due to a serious illness. As Red Bull mourns the bossman, the race day has gotten quite grim for the team.

As the patron has left us early this weekend, Red Bull reminisces all the good that he did for the people around him. Dietrich gave fair opportunities and held faith in many. Built a team from ground up and contributed a big portion of his proceedings in supporting athletes and two F1 teams.

As the news surfaced, FIA has made changes in the plans of going forward with the outcome of Red Bull’s breach of the budget cap.

The unfortunate verdict of Red Bull exceeding their spendings came to light a few days ago. The final penalties were to be discussed whilst in Austin during the U.S Grand Prix, this weekend. However, in light of the recent events, FIA administrators and Red Bull have decided to delay this communication in honour of Mr. Red Bull.

Mr Dietrich was very hands-on the growth of the Red Bull F1 team. He was involved in every aspect of the team, from it’s manufacturing, to helping everyone in the paddock. Independence was paramount to the man and he did everything possible to keep Red Bull and Alpha Tauri financially secure.

As the main man passed away, Red Bull with a heavy heart, is reminiscing all that the bossman did for them over the years.

Red Bull looks back at times with Dietrich Mateschiz

As the race day is upon us amidst a sad time for Red Bull, everyone at the team is looking forward to doing their best in order to honour the bossman. They shared their experiences with the patron and how it changed their lives for the better.

Red Bull’s Sports director, Helmut Marko, shared his goals in a recent interview,“Didi was delighted with Max’s second world title and now we want to win the constructor’s title in his honor.

Team Principal, Christian Horner, vulnerable, also shared,“He was a role model and an inspiration for all of us. Motorsport owes Dietrich a lot. He helped a lot of people here in the paddock.”

Fondly remembering Dietrich, an emotional bi-champion said, “I owe him my career, my life. His death was a hard blow for us and for motorsport as a whole.” 

Furthermore sharing his thoughts on the upcoming race and how he intends to navigate it, he said, “It’s all secondary today. We would have liked to honor Dietrich with a good result, but it shouldn’t be. Now we have to fix it in the race. I’m not worried.”

Max Verstappen’s former teammate, and an ex driver for Red Bull, Carlos Sainz, who now drives for Ferrari, also shared his love for Mr Red Bull. He said, “I wouldn’t be in Formula 1 without Dietrich Mateschitz. He was a blessing for motorsport.”

Condoling Mateschitz, Sergio Perez admitted that the whole team will be dedicated and driving for Dietrich and his family on the race day. “I hope we can give him the result that he would have wished for from us,” he said, in conclusion.

The demise of Mr Mateschitz has saddened many. With a few hours to go, we’ll have to be patient and watch how Red Bull navigates the upcoming race.
