Love him or hate him, Max Verstappen is a racer. The Dutch driver breathes, wakes up, and goes about his usual day thinking about racing. Starting F1 at the ripe age of 17, he is one-of-a-kind generational talent. Pair that with Adrian Newey’s aerodynamic efficient cars and you have a two-time world champion. However, in Verstappen’s future endeavors, Newey’s million-dollar creation for Aston Martin might be limited to footnotes.

Max Verstappen is a racing royalty. His mother has experience in Karting and Formula A championships. His father, Jos Verstappen, on the other hand, has won the Le Mans LMP2 series. The younger Verstappen has spoken several times about his dream to be in endurance racing. Racing alongside his father? “Time is ticking,” he says. In Formula 1, Verstappen dominates in the RB19. What car would he choose to dominate potentially, in Le Mans?

Valkyrie AMR is a beast. It is as critics say, ‘an extreme of the extreme’. With Adrian Newey’s big brain behind the venture, Aston Martin has blown the trumpets with its entry in the 2025 Le Mans. The communique has been making waves around social media and news network sites. Priced at a whopping $3 million, this HyperCar is the closest you can get to an F1 car on civilian roads.

The Formula 1 champion is keen on driving in Le Mans. He reiterated the fact, I definitely will do Le Mans, but I don’t want to rock up there and just be filling up the field. I want to have a good preparation, I want to be able to win. Of course there is BOP, that’s always a bit tough, but at least be competitive.” Speaking to F1 journalist, Will Buxton as quoted by a Reddit video post, about the latest entry in the sport, he said, “I think it’s great for the sport that they are going with the Valkyrie. I mean it’s an amazing car.”

Being a fan of the V-12 engine, he confessed that the car was going to sound amazing. However, the Dutch Driver picked Adrian Newey’s $6 million worth indigeneous creation over AMR. Maybe with the RB17 it’s possible,” he said.

As for Valkyrie, he jokingly added that maybe we would see Fernando Alonso driving the car. The 42-year-old is an Aston Martin Driver. He is the oldest on the grid and retirement for him seems as distant as Pluto. Maybe after another 10 years or so we’ll see the world champion drive a HyperCar competing alongside Verstappen. A tempting prospect!

RB17 is Red Bull‘s testimony to its commitment to expanding the horizons of how far an automobile can go. It is the first of its kind, adorning the energy drink brand’s logo. Without the interference of pesky road regulations, RB17 is made to be relentless. Unlike Valkyrie with a V12 engine, the hybrid HyperCar roars with a V8 and 1100bhp. With double the price of Valkyrie, this hypercar is a collector’s item with only 50 units in production.

Another Newey masterstroke! One of the most successful F1 cars was the Williams FW14. In 1991, it won seven races. That year, Williams took the Constructor’s Championship home. The brain behind the car? Red Bull’s Chief Technology Officer, Adrian Newey. Throughout the years, he has worked with Williams, McLaren, and now Red Bull, delivering at least one championship-winning car to each. With the Aston Martin Le Mans project, Newey has a new standard to set.

Valkyrie stands for ‘chooser of the slain.’ Whether the AMR HyperCar lives up to its name will be a debate for the coming years. As for Max Verstappen, he will only compete in the sport if he can win. A dominant Red Bull spell in F1, how about a dominant Red Bull spell in Le Mans?
