Back in 2016, the drivers gathered ahead of the 2016 Chinese Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton planned the gathering and shortlisted an Italian restaurant named The Kitchen. The dinner was attended by all but four drivers in China.
As the time came to pay off the bill, the bill was split into 18 parts! Yes, that’s right, that bill was split even though the drivers were all millionaires. When asked about the same, Hamilton stated, “We all got a receipt, 18 receipts, 18 credit cards, it was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. I have never seen anything like that before.”
When asked who was the brain behind such an idea, the Briton said it must have been his then-teammate Nico Rosberg.
When asked to Rosberg about it, he conveyed, “Really? Interesting. From what I can remember, the hidden agreement usually is that the world champion pays, but that might just be my opinion.”
F1 drivers recently attended the Sebastian Vettel dinner in a similar fashion
Sebastian Vettel, one of Formula 1’s titans, will race for one last time in Abu Dhabi. The season finale in the UAE will be the last time Seb will be behind the wheel. As the F1 world prepares to bid farewell to the German champ, all the drivers gathered to have the farewell dinner in Vettel’s name.

All the 20 drivers on the grid sat with the four-time world champion and indulged themselves in gourmet. As Vettel will hang up his helmet after crossing the finish line at the Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday, the fans will surely miss his presence on the grid in the coming seasons.
The drivers gathered together for a dinner at Hakkasan Abu Dhabi. As per reports, the restaurant was selected by Vettel’s former Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc. The meet-up was ahead of Friday’s practice in Abu Dhabi.
