F1 is an international sport and travels around the world annually to host races. This season, the sport will go to 23 different cities, over the world, to execute the longest F1 calendar in its history. The reason the sport can successfully conduct races around the world is its logistical superiority.

The teams send their freights containing equipment using three modes of transport- land, water, and air. But in recent years, it has become increasingly difficult for teams to manage the logistics of the sport.

Last season in the South American leg of the calendar we saw many freight delays for teams. But F1 journalist Joe Saward believes that in the 2022 season it might get even worse for the teams to manage their freight.
How will F1 manage freight delays in the 2022 season?
Although the sport will be conducting a record-breaking 23 races this season, it puts a lot of pressure on the teams to manage their logistics accordingly. There are also a number of reasons that the logistics will be difficult for the teams to manage this season.
The world has been recovering from a pandemic since 2020. This means that there is a limited amount of flights that are in operation across the world. But the main reason it would be difficult for the 2022 season is the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Because of the rise in global tensions, it has become increasingly difficult for flights to fly over the airspace of the country.

There are a limited number of cargo flights that are in operation currently for commercial purposes. Also, diverting the air routes by not flying over Russia has also proven really costly in terms of fuel and time.

F1 has already seen a freight delay in form of the Haas F1 team, fearing losing track time on the first day of the official pre-season test in Bahrain.
The sport needs to realize that logistical problems are slowly becoming a nightmare in the current scenario for the teams. F1 needs to come up with some solutions as quickly as possible so that the teams can smoothly conduct a 23 race season in 2022. The sport does not want any team to suffer during a race weekend because of their freights not arriving on time.
