Since his initial takeover of Force India, Lawrence Stroll has invested millions into his F1 project. With money no object, the Canadian billionaire has used his $3.6 billion to reshape the team. With the 2023 season as proof, the Canadian has been successful as well. Signing Fernando Alonso was also a step in the right direction. In fact, Stroll pumped a further $300 million into his dream project to leave no stone unturned. This last bit of investment to provide his team with everything they needed is being hailed as the key to the team’s long-term success and perhaps helping Alonso achieve his ultimate dream.

This key investment into the new factory will play a major role in the team’s long-term success. We don’t mean that in terms of using the facilities for better output on the track. This investment will finally bring the team working in the background together for the first time into their own place. This investment is already being considered a masterstroke by many. However, Aston Martin won’t realize the true potential of the factory until at least 2025.

Despite all the potential and success, Fernando Alonso won’t taste the true power of the Aston Martin facility

In a hypothetical scenario where Alonso does not stick around the British team beyond 2025, he will not be able to experience the real power of the Aston Martin factory. Why? Despite the fact the team will move into the new facility soon, the British team will still have to use Mercedes‘ wind tunnel to get the job done.

This sharing business will end only after the Silverstone-based outfit gets a functioning wind tunnel. The team will get their own wind tunnel in 2025, which will also be a massive boost for them.

“It’s much nicer to have it at your own location. It really is your own wind tunnel and that gives extra flexibility,” McCullough believes.
