The 2-time world champion has had the privilege of driving for McLaren, Renault, and Ferrari. Now with Alpine, formerly known as Renault, the Spanish driver talks about the work culture that he saw working with three different teams.
Speaking on the podcast, Beyond the Grid, being asked if teams had unique aspects to them. Alonso replied, “Absolutely, yes. I think each of them have, part of the DNA of the team, historically they have been racing with a different philosophy. So each of them are different.”
“In Reanult as I said, you find this family environment and friendly approach by everyone in Enstone and Paris. In Ferrari, I think it’s a more passionate, what you see there with the people at the factory; a little bit more chaotic as well, it might be part of the Latin, Italian, Spanish DNA as well.”
“McLaren is a bit more serious a little bit more precise, everything, But maybe lacking a bit of communication internally as well, but a very professional environment. And yeah, each of them is just a bit different, but they are all finding the limits and arriving to the same goal which is producing the fastest cars possible, and they are all same on that,” Alonso concluded.

What has been Alonso’s highlight at Alpine so far?
When it was announced that Fernando was joining Formula One once again for the 2021 season, many had their doubts about the 2-time world champion.
However, at the recent Qatar Grand Prix, Alonso had silenced his haters, as he achieved a podium finish by crossing the line in third place. Seeing that he will be on the grid next year, Alonso hopes to take the Enstone-based team to the next level. However, there are two more races left before this season comes to end, and Fernando hopes to display the same level of performance as he did in Qatar.
