The blockbuster F1 project Brad Pitt is leading has officially begun ‘filming’ at the British GP. The Oscar-winning Hollywood legend has really been soaking in the atmosphere at this iconic race and has also rubbed shoulders with some drivers! He was seen lining up on the grid, too. What’s more? He also took his tailor-made F2/F1 car out on track for a few shots. But amongst it all, he’s also tried to right a wrong he committed to one of the greatest characters of the F1 paddock a year ago.
Martin Brundle has rightfully picked up the baton of being the ‘Voice of F1’ from the late great Murray Walker. As such, the stock of the ex-F1 driver is very high in the Formula 1 circles. 9 months ago, at the 2022 US Grand Prix, held at the Circuit of the Americas, Pitt was in attendance. As is customary, Brundle during his famous ‘Grid Walk’ segment tried to approach the American actor but was given a brutal cold shoulder instead. Now, the 59-year-old has tried to make amends.

During a special interview for Sky Sports F1, Brundle finally got a decent chat in with Pitt. This time around, Pitt didn’t seem unenthused, too. While talking about the British GP, he told Brundle, “It’s just all been great. The vibe’s amazing, you know? And just to get to be a part of it in this way and to get to tell our story in this way.”
And when Brundle prodded him to spill the beans on the plot of the movie, Pitt extended a golden opportunity instead. He said, “I would be a guy who raced in the 90s…in fact I would’ve been on the track with you at some point. So you’ve got to do a cameo!”
Fans have high hopes for this movie. And Pitt has ensured an authentic experience.
How Pitt became one of the boys at the British GP
Pitt and Co. have been selling the movie as one of the most authentic F1 movies of all time. Naturally, the actor is also trying his best to portray the character of an F1 driver as realistically as possible. This is why he took part in the drivers’ briefing at the British GP.

Pitt was a hit among the drivers according to Brit, George Russell. Autosport quoted him as saying, “I think it’s one of those when you see a worldwide superstar for the first time, it’s quite surreal. He was joking around and having a good time and just kind of one of the boys really. So excited to see what the movie does.”
