I took a break to focus on other things but I also lost the drive to keep making music, which has made me so sad,” wrote Lewis Hamilton when he showcased his latest “rough” creation to the world a few weeks ago. The 7x champion who has time and again declared his second love for arts, in this case, music, had once given his judgment about the rivals saying Red Bull has bad taste in music. And if you were wondering what good taste for the man looks like, he just updated his Spotify playlist.

Hamilton partied hard at the Coachella Music Festival a week ago. The man who has been more disappointed with on-track developments finally seemed like the happy man he has always been. Perhaps his musical alter ego XNDA came alive listening to the beats. Additionally, if you have seen Lewis prepping for his race, you must have seen his ex-assistant Angela Cullen hand him his Air Pods for the champ to get into the zone. Music does alter the brain’s neurons to increase blood flow and brain connectivity and probably that is the reason why the Mercedes driver holds it so close to his heart (and ears).

Train Hard by Lewis Hamilton is what he has named his playlist, which had three songs before he updated it recently. He took to his Instagram to post a story saying, “updated my training playlist, hope it helps you as much as it helps me.” Essentially, musicians of color dominated the scenario. The likes of Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Stormzy, Drake, Future, etc found themselves gracing the seven-time world champion’s playlist. If you wondered what it takes to reach the top, this can be a clue to the grand design.

Last year, Hamilton spoke about how music helps him stay calm before the race. In a sport where there is a humongous amount of adrenaline rush, one does need to work on calmness to be precise on the racetrack. He specifically pointed out how music helps him drown out his subconscious thoughts and noises around him. But what about the noise coming from the garage next door?

He stated, “The garage next door is playing the worst music. Yeah, the Bulls don’t play great music. So you put your headphones in to listen to what you want to listen to, what your vibe is.” and then went on to highlight what he listens to and sometimes his then assistant used to give a suggestion or two.
