For instance, he shifted to McLaren in 2015 despite spending years with Ferrari and several close calls in the championship. It was reportedly a $37 million agreement. However, now having the best form of life and sailing in an astonishing AMR23 while bagging 6 podiums so far, Alonso has been lured to emerge as a savior of a driver who has been in the worst phase of his professional life.

There has been speculation in recent months that Charles Leclerc’s time with Ferrari may be coming to an end if the Prancing Horse doesn’t produce results, given that his contract is set to expire in 2024. The rumors have been catching fire after the 25-year-old was discovered incensed at the conclusion of the second qualifying round of the Canadian GP when the team let the Monegasque down because of the team’s incorrect assessment of the situation.

However, the 1996 champion Damon Hill believes that since both Alonso and Leclerc’s contracts are scheduled to expire at the same time, the Spaniard can be persuaded to step aside in order to make way for the Ferrari Driver in exchange for a lucrative offer. While having a chat with Express, one-time champion, Damon Hill said, “I suppose he could look at Aston Martin but I think Fernando’s got a two-year contract with them anyway. I think he’d probably step aside if they paid him enough money, but I don’t think he wants to give up a competitive drive.”
