However, it is not just the Australian who is making a statement. Bryce Harper, the American professional baseball player, who once signed the richest contract worth $330 million, was seen sporting the merch of the McLaren driver. The Philadelphia Phillies player donned Daniel Ricciardo merchandise ahead of their game against San Diego Padres.

Tim Hauraney, a contributor for F1 in North America, retweeted the photo on his official Twitter handle with the caption, “Bryce Harper rocking some Daniel Ricciardo Merch today! #MLB #F1 crossover.”

Earlier, Harper’s team Philadelphia Phillies shared a photo of the player wearing a bright blue suit and a hat with “Howdy” written on it on their Twitter handle.

In a recent interview, the German driver shared, “I think, even if he [Ricciardo] has struggled a little bit, which is fair to say but there’s more in him and I still rate him very very high. I find it a bit sad.”

In the end, I don’t think the McLaren team is happy for him to leave, I think the top people are calling the shots which might be less than a handful of people, where’s the rest of the team, I’m quite sure that they absolutely love Daniel.”

“It’s a shame that it didn’t work, but I wish him that he finds a great position in the grid,” concluded Vettel.
