What comes to mind when we look at the 38-year-old Lewis Hamilton? A poised, positive man who has claimed all records in the record book. While all of that holds, a glimpse of his wild past may shock you. The man who recently shared a drink with the Obamas in Australia faced an instance of a rescue operation-like situation with his father, Anthony Hamilton, coming to save him.
It hasn’t been an easy ride for the Hamiltons. The father had to work three jobs to keep his son’s racing dreams alive. In a bid to help, Lewis followed in his father’s footsteps, taking up a bartending job at 17. While the man diligently did his $4 job not straying away from the focus, he decided to go all the way on his last day. And the wild adventure on which Hamilton embarked turned out to be a crazy one. While being interviewed by Mark Howard of Fox Sports Australia, Lewis Hamilton denied going to pubs, but let the world in on his bartending adventures.

The seven-time champion said, “No, I’m not really into pubs, so I’ve never been into pubs. I worked at one when I was like 17 or something like that.” When the interviewer asked him what he was doing there, Hamilton replied, “I was bartending.”
Interviewer Mark Howard later asked him about the money he made and his experience there. Hamilton said, “Um, I think I was getting like three pounds 50 an hour or something ridiculous like that. Minimum wage it was uh yeah, it was a good experience. But the best part of it was when I quit uh on my last day and I cleaned up the bar and then I was like what are these drinks that I’ve been giving everyone so I tried everything and my dad had to come pick me up. I was absolutely hammered.”
Well, this isn’t the first time Papa Hamilton has come to his rescue. He has also given him a piece of advice regarding W14 and the guide and ex-manager that Anthony has been. One cannot ignore that.

Anthony gives Lewis Hamilton a game-changing advice

Lewis has often complained about the underwhelming construction given to him by Mercedes yet again after the porpoising nightmare of 2022. He has also gone ahead to say that no matter how much he tries, he cannot become one with the car. And he reiterated this even after finishing P2 at Albert Park. However, before the race started, Anthony shared a contradictory opinion and advice he gave his son.

During the race build-up, Ted Kravitz interviewed Anthony Hamilton, senior Hamilton said, “I keep telling [Lewis]. You gotta love the car, haven’t you? And when you don’t love the car, it’s very difficult. He’s gonna love it soon, I’m sure.”
