Despite cruising at the age of 41, Fernando Alonso cannot get enough of racing. When the F1 season is not on, the Spaniard engages himself in other formats like endurance racing. Turns out, even the ventures he invests in are all about racing. Take his museum in his hometown of Oviedo, for example. Yes, an entire museum dedicated to everything Fernando Alonso!
After the continued frustration of going uncompetitive in F1 for years, Alonso called it quits in 2019. During the two-year sabbatical, he raced in endurance races and rallies and even tried his hand out in IndyCar. However, F1 has a charm of its own, a thrill that no other competition can live up to. Resultantly, he made a comeback in 2021 with Alpine and is now having the time of his life while driving for Aston Martin.
But away from the track, he has another passion. The passion to collect and put up for display anything and everything he has achieved in his long career in motorsport. The place that houses it all is located in his hometown, Oviedo.

As reported by Cuatro, the museum, or as they termed it, his “spoiled child” has his podium trophies, championship trophies, cars he’s driven in F1, and the helmets he’s sported all these years, along with the ones he swapped with different drivers, among other things. The museum sits right beside the karting track that, $260 million worth Fernando (as per Celebrity Net Worth) owns and sometimes takes to in his free time. The museum also has an auditorium to hold conventions for up to 200 people.
This obviously is a business separate from another motorsport venture that his grid mate Lando Norris was once a part of.
When Lando Norris cheekily took a dig at Fernando Alonso to promote his own brand
Before taking the world of F1 by storm, Norris, like every young motor racer, was an avid kart racer. Having a good eye for spotting talent, Alonso roped Lando into a karting team that he owns. The experience with the team helped Briton grow immensely as a driver. However, all grown up now, he has a karting team of his own.

Recalling his experience in an older interview, Lando told, “The go-kart I was using at this time was Fernando Alonso kart. So Fernando helped me a little bit to achieve this. Now I have grown up and gotten Formula One; it is my opportunity to give something back, and that was to create my own go-kart.”
Taking a funny dig at Fernando’s go-karts while upping his own, he said, “It is miles better than the Fernando Alonso go-kart, so that’s why this team now runs my one. We have already won a couple of races.”
