To be or not to be? That question always persists. And with the mighty Lewis Hamilton‘s contract set to expire at the end of this year, is he going to be a Mercedes driver ahead of 2024? While on several occasions, Toto Wolff and Hamilton have declared the undying bond they share with each other but their words have not become a reality. And with a multi-million dollar sword hanging above Silver Arrows’ head, the iconic partnership seems to be on shaking ground.

The Briton who has been seen openly criticizing his team for their construction blunders and not listening to him, it seems that the frustrations are at an all-time high. But the frustrations won’t only be from one end as the team now wants to improve, and that improvement comes from money which has a restrictive spending rate due to the FIA budget cap rules. As there is still time left to put pen onto paper, will the team may now have doubts about the man whose contract will come at a reported $74 Million?

Mathew Syed of The Times has made an interesting observation. He stated, “Perhaps there’s also a chance that Mercedes can get their act together, find a way of getting the car up to speed. The teamwork between driver and engineers may find renewed life, giving Hamilton a shot at the dream he craves. It is also possible — and many Hamilton detractors have raised this prospect — that Mercedes may end the relationship at the end of this season, given the expense of his reported £60 million contract.”

“Some days I feel like stopping.” He then went on to detail the struggles of fighting back in the face of abject failure. “When I start to feel this way I dig deep and remember I’m on a mission. Whether you realise it or not, you’re on a mission too.”

“We’re all chasing something. Some dream or goal that will make us better people, make our lives more fulfilling, and make us proud of ourselves. Some days it’ll feel impossible to get there, but it’s not. We can get it. We will get it. I know you’re with me. I feel the love and support and just know I’m sending it back to you tenfold. We got this.”
