In the case of the prodigious 21-year-old racing driver from Melbourne’s Bayside Sandringham, he has received $6.5 million from family coffers to pursue his aspiration of competing in Formula 1.

The Australian driver’s ascent up the ranks is being praised by F1 fans all over the world as the Formula 1 head toward the Australian Grand Prix this weekend. The McLaren rookie, who was born in Melbourne on April 6, 2001, is passionate about racing fast vehicles. There’s little doubt where the desire came from because his father owns an automotive software development company. And Piastri has a clear genetic predisposition towards cars.

Before starting his professional career in 2011 with the Go-Kartin Club, the Melbournian began his career with national-level racing cars. The 21-year-old then competed in many championships to demonstrate his mettle. In consecutive years, he won the Formula 3000, Formula 2, and Euro Cup championships. Driving the MCL60, which hadn’t even fulfilled its developmental goal before the season began, the boy has currently reached the pinnacle level of motorsport. That demonstrates the young man’s readiness to accept all the challenges. Seeing how his son’s career is progressing, his parents might be feeling how their kid has made all the hardships and spending of $6.5 million worth it.

There were many analogies drawn soon after Oscar Piastri joined one of the most famous F1 teams. Nevertheless, one that recently occurred was when the rookie driver visited the F1 Nation podcast and something transpired when he was speaking with Host Tom Clarkson. This can lead us to know the story of an F1 great that is similar to that of Piastri.

While in the podcast Piastri was narrating his journey saying, “It actually started with, a business trip for my dad, he brought back a remote-controlled car from the US to Australia. I started just driving that around at the backyard and at school, overall at one point when I was, I think six or seven. Then I started racing not long after that and it all kind of went from there. So a bit of a different entry to motorsport. I didn’t start karting till I was about nine or ten years old.” 

The Host, who didn’t even wait for the 21 ear old to finish his statement interjected and said, “That’s how Lewis Hamilton first got into racing.”

Like Hamilton, Piastri also suffered some financial difficulties and started his career with Mclaren, so do we assume that next year the Young Piastri will lift the world championship?
