There has been a lot of doubt over the possible retirement of Lewis Hamilton before the 2022 season. It is still up in the air whether the seven-time world champion will continue racing in F1 next season. Former world champion Mika Hakkinen believes it would be difficult for Lewis to compete in an uncompetitive car.

There is a chance that Mercedes might not be the fastest car in 2022 because of the new regulations. Hakkinen is worried Hamilton would struggle to fight for wins and podiums as he has done throughout his career.
