The relationship between Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel has grown through the season. We have often spotted the two German drivers spending time with each other in the paddock. They are also usually talking to each other in the pre-race grid walks as well.
The Haas driver considers Vettel as his mentor. So naturally, he was thrilled when the 4-time world champion decided to stay in F1 and extend his contract with Aston Martin for the 2022 season.

There was a little bit of doubt whether the 4-time world champion would drive in the 2022 season. But with his contract extension and excitement for the 2022 cars put those fears to bed. Mick was equally, if not happier than us, to hear the news.
Mick: "We are not just talking about cars, but also about life. We can say that I was the happiest person in the paddock when Seb decided to continue racing."

Vettel has assisted Schumacher throughout the way and has come to his aid frequently. Mick has always been respectful towards his fellow German even they might have come together on the track.
“He’s a huge help for me in all ways, anything on and off the track. I’m happy that I can go back to somebody that has so much experience but also that is so likable. Very happy he’s around.” said the Haas driver.
