Mick Schumacher is making his F1 debut with Haas this weekend. The F1 community has been speculating who the young German might perform this season. Meanwhile, In a recent interview with Sport1, Bernie Ecclestone talks about the future of Mick Schumacher in Formula 1.

Bernie hasn’t met Mick enough to know him very well. However, looking at Mick’s F2 performance, he is certain the German has inherited a lot from his father’s skills. Bernie explains which F1 team would suit Mick Schumacher’s racing style the best.

“A team like Red Bull, a team that has the skills to win races. That has people in the team who can support it precisely. His record in Formula 2 was great. It won’t be so easy with the current team.”

“I don’t know Mick very well. I’ve met him a few times, but never close enough to really know him. But I think he has inherited a lot from his father’s genius. I would be very disappointed if we could not see great achievements from him in the future,” explained the former F1 boss.

Things won’t be easy for Mick Schumacher, claims Ecclestone

Mick Schumacher is making his Formula 1 debut with Haas F1. The American team has had a rough couple of seasons and has been battling hard to get points on the board. Ecclestone predicts that his Formula 1 journey will not be an easy one.

“Mick Schumacher knows exactly what he is doing. It is not the first time that he has sat in a racing car. The other driver who is on the team with him ( Nikita Mazepin, editor’s note ) is in the same situation.”

“These are two drivers who are in a non-competitive car. They now have to develop into seasoned racing drivers. It’s not easy,” stated Ecclestone.

The young German finished sixth fastest on the morning of day three of pre-season testing. He has since stated that he feels confident and is ready to take on his F1 Grand Prix debut.
