Mick Schumacher is all set to enter the Formula scene next year. Fans have been eagerly anticipating to see him drive an F1 drive for some time now. Haas has done them a huge favor by officially confirming his place on the grid for the next year.
Being the son of the legendary Michael Schumacher, Mick has been under the spotlight since a very young age. This means coming as a rookie driver, he can absorb that pressure, “Because I had so much pressure over the years, I can now handle it well.”

To guarantee a pace on the grid next season, he had to deliver in F2 this season. This brought some pressure on his shoulders, but he has been delivering the results. He is leading the championship, going into the last round of the season.
Since his drive has been officially confirmed, he can completely focus on sealing the F2 championship in Sakhir. “I don’t have to lose my head anymore, I can concentrate fully on the weekend, on my work, and on working with my team.
“It may be that it might be easier. It might also be that it is more difficult, but I can tell you that best after the weekend.”

Mick Schumacher wants ‘reduced expectations’ for next season
The German knows that all eyes will be on him next season. Fans will be expecting huge results from him. However, that is simply not possible. First, the Haas car is uncompetitive right now, and unless there are miracles, they can’t recover the performance gap by a huge margin. Second, he will need time to settle in his maiden campaign.
Dampening the expectations, he said, “I’m happy that I’ll be a Formula 1 driver next year. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what the future brings… the expectations of many have to be reduced a bit. Of course, how quickly I settle in Formula 1 is also an interesting factor.”

Nevertheless, he is very excited to get going in the pinnacle of motor racing, “I’m happy that it’s out, that I can drive Formula 1 next year and that I can start work soon.” Happy, as we all are for him. Hopefully, he will achieve the level of success that the entire motorsports world knows he’s capable of.
