In 2021, the legendary Schumacher name returns to grace Formula One once more. However, the big difference is that it will be Mick Schumacher behind the wheel.
Recently, he spoke to Sky Sports Italy about the upcoming season and his recruitment to Haas F1.
He said, ” The debut in Melbourne I think it will be very exciting.

“My mother Corinna will be very happy. She is my number one interlocutor, she is always the first to call me. When I was promoted to Formula 1 she told me that she knew the time would come. She always seemed very confident about my growth path. In reality, however, she was always right.”
Without a doubt, there will be a lot of pressure on Schumacher Jr to perform. While he may insist that he does not want to ride on the coattails of his father, the comparisons will be inevitable.
Admittedly, the Haas F1 car is far from a front-running machine. However, Mick Schumacher will try his utmost to extract every ounce of performance.

What can we expect from Mick Schumacher?
The reigning Formula 2 champion thoroughly deserves his F1 call-up. Even if it was not for 2021, he would have found his way to the F1 grid, eventually. Mick Schumacher knows that the onus is on him to carry on the Schumacher legacy. In fact, he is the latest member of the ‘son of an F1 driver club.’
The big difference is that Michael is a legend, and it is up to Mick to pick up where his father left off. Without a doubt, Mick Schumacher is a talented driver, but he is playing in the big league now. The youngster is insistent that comparisons to his father do not faze him.

However, he is keen to try his level best to emulate the legendary driver. Hopefully, for Mick’s sake, he is able to build up a legacy of his own and not just be known as Michael Schumacher’s son.
