Mick Schumacher is having a torrid time in the paddock. The results and performances haven’t been great for him and Haas recently. Furthermore, Mick is also without a seat to race next season. Things surely don’t look great for him. However, to add to his misery, Haas trackside engineering director, Ayao Komatsu, has now said some not-so-great things about Schumacher.

Haas started the season strongly, as Kevin Magnussen finished an impressive P5 in the opening race in Bahrain. While Mick Schumacher finished just outside points in P11, Haas had made a statement start to the season. However, their pace arguably added away with time.

Moreover, they might be in a tricky situation to hire a partner for Magnussen as they look set to overlook Mick for next year. It seems they have not been fond of the German’s attitude in recent months. Furthermore, Mick hasn’t finished in the points since his career-best P6 in Austria.

Komatsu told Motorsport-Total.com, “Mick was behind Kevin and that frustrated him. His focus in the sprint race wasn’t the right one.”

“We talked about that afterwards. We talked before the sprint race about how we would do it as a team. But what he did after that wasn’t great. And what he said after that wasn’t great either.”

Ayao Komatsu has further claimed that Mick’s teammate Kevin Magnussen likes helping the German. Magnussen is an experienced figure in the F1 paddock who was previously paired at Haas with Romain Grosjean.

He said, “Sometimes Mick focuses too much on his team-mate. Then I say to him ‘look, Kevin really likes to help you and he tells you things he would never have told Romain [Grosjean] before’.”
