After a catastrophic 2021 campaign, Haas put their trust in Mick Schumacher. The German driver’s 2022 season got off to a rough start in Monaco and Saudi Arabia. Schumacher, though, made a name for himself at the highest level of motorsport with two respectable finishes at Silverstone (P8) and Austria (P6). The growing competitiveness and the lack of experience led the American outfits to oust the Formula 3 winner. Haas stated that their desire to have experienced F1 veterans lead the team forward motivated the addition of Nico Hulkenberg to their team alongside Kevin Magnussen.
However, Schumacher believes that the two seasons were insufficient to demonstrate his true potential. According to him, he still has a lot of untapped potential. Schumacher quoted as per the GP fans, “Many people have already said it but I think it is worth saying again nobody was fully a complete driver in Formula 1 after two years and there is a lot to learn still.”
Adding further he said, “I intend to learn those bits and pieces and I’m sure that once I put everything together, as I have shown in junior categories, I’m sure that I can be a top driver in Formula 1 as well.”
While others might believe that Mick Schumacher’s career is gone; a distant billionaire may have some dreams for the German driver.

Mick Schumacher currently lacks a seat in a Formula One car. However, if Calvin Lo is successful in starting his own team, Schumacher may be able to obtain one. The 46-year-old told Planet F1,” I think Mick is an asset to any team. Can you imagine? My hero, my idol Schumacher, his son whose has had the training and that mindset exposure since he was a little kid.”
“Sure, he may have been a little bit unlucky the last two seasons or last few races specifically but I mean, he is such an amazing driver. From what I gather Mick is such a personable person, very friendly. From a finance point of view, from a marketing point, that’s incredible. Good driver, very well spoken, the marketability of him, it’s incredible. From a boy who grew up watching Schumacher and the son is driving [for me]. Wow, that’s like heaven,” he added.
