The legendary Michael Schumacher’s nephew, David Schumacher, is currently competing in the German Touring Car Championship, DTM. The final race of the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters’ 2022 didn’t go so well for the German racer.
David, who drives with Mercedes-AMG Team Winward, reportedly endured injuries from a crash this past week at Hockenheim. There was a safety car restart, post a panic-fueled lap. However, that was followed by a crash that involved several drivers, including Schumacher, that resulted in a red flag.

David’s father, the former F1 driver, Ralf Schumacher, said, “When David came home, he was still complaining of back pain. We then decided to go to a hospital in Salzburg to have an MRI done. It turned out that a lumbar vertebra was fractured.”
