The prolonged and everlasting saga of Andretti Autosport’s entry into the traveling circus continues. The American racing conglomerate is fighting tooth and nail to enter the circus. However, the Americans have faced harsh opposition from most teams, including Mercedes. So now Michael Andretti has singled out Toto Wolff’s comments to talk about their F1 dream.

Earlier, Toto Wolff acknowledged the benefits of a private company entering the sport. However, Wolff added multinational groups like Audi and Porsche will bring more value compared to any privateer.

Since Andretti Autosport is a private company, these comments by Toto Wolff did not sit right with Michael Andretti. So he took it upon himself to disprove Mercedes’ boss’ comments.

He said, “My opinion on that is that manufacturers are great when you have them but they come and go all of the time, so what’s the stability for down the road?”

“Whereas, when you’ve got real racing teams that their whole life is racing, you know they’re going to be here 20 years down the road.– You look at Williams, look at McLaren.”

Andretti might have a point, as Formula 1 features a lot of change on the grid every few seasons. Additionally, no negative comments or opposition are enough to stop the Americans from trying to enter the pinnacle of motorsport.

The American racing conglomerate came close to joining the premier class. However, their deal with Sauber fell through and now they want to enter the sport with their own team.

Despite the opposition from Toto Wolff among other F1 entities, Andretti Autosport is still working to make their dream a reality. “We’re still plugging away. We’re trying to go through all of the processes we need to go through and we’re not giving up,” said Michael Andretti.
