F1 returns to the United States of America for the first time since 2021. No, not to the Circuit of The Americas, but at the Sunshine state. Yes, Miami is all set to host the race for the first time in its history. As the F1 fans are waiting for the event eagerly, not everyone is doing the same.

American F1 fans are very excited about the event. Despite having a huge influx of fans in recent years, the sport’s introduction in the Florida state attracted some criticism as well. And most of it is from the Miami residents who live nearby the projected circuit.

The Miami Grand Prix to take place from May 7 to May 9 at the Hard Rock Stadium complex. The 5.41-kilometer circuit will see 57 laps with 19 turns. However, people living here, especially near Miami Gardens, haven’t been very welcoming. There are mixed feelings among people regarding the event.

One local resident conveyed, “It’s going to be a nightmare to navigate in the area for locals.”

While another resident expressed that he welcomes any growth in the city where he lived for 30 years. He stated, “I hope the spillover will help the small businesses.” All in all, the situation is quite interesting.

What else came in the way of the F1 Miami Grand Prix?

To top it all, some Miami residents filed lawsuits against the race organizers. They showcased concerns regarding the noise pollution to be expected during the race weekend. Moreover, the locality will attract a huge crowd for the race. The concerned people also alleged that the extreme noise from the sporting event could damage their hearing ability.

The complainants also asserted that the Grand Prix will violate the city’s fixed noise ordinance. Despite such complaints, no decisions have been taken in favor of the residents as of now.

However, a Miami judge has denied the lawsuit and allowed the event to follow as scheduled. The judge further put forward that the allegations are speculative and there’s no evidence that it can cause damage from that far away.

Moreover, the judge also stated that race will benefit the state financially. Despite allowing the event to proceed, the court also asked the race organizers to have decibel checks so that there can be further investigations and findings post-race weekend.
