Details of Lewis Hamilton’s Met Gala outfit
In his 5th appearance at fashion’s biggest event, Lewis Hamilton made his biggest statement yet. The black outfit was an ode to an 18th-century gardener. But that’s not all. The Burberry jacket also included a poem by Alex Wharton, a Black poet – titled “The Gardener” – that Lewis added himself while working with Creative Director Daniel Lee and his team.
During the slavery times, John Ystumllym came over from Africa to Wales and became the first Black gardener in Wales. That’s where the inspiration for his look came from. Explaining his outfit, Lewis said, “
