Mercedes is going through a tough time. The German constructors didn’t have the best start to the season as they are still struggling with their cars. Meanwhile, rivals Ferrari and Red Bull have dominated so far. Even the Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff doesn’t have many answers and asks the fans to wait for the improvements.

The German constructors are the reigning constructors champion and have dominated the sport over the past few years. So, fans have high expectations from the team. But the Silver Arrows failed this season to meet the fans’, as well as their own, expectations. The Mercedes boss reveals there might not be a tremendous difference in the W13’s performance in the next race, but it will get better as the season continued.

Toto Wolff stated, “There will be no magic solution for the next race weekend, but we aim to make steady progress in the coming races, so that hopefully we can get closer to the front of the pack. Until then, we need to maximize every opportunity and make the most of the package we have.”

Red Bull echoes Toto Wolff’s thoughts about Mercedes

It seems not just the Mercedes team principal is not expecting a magical solution to come up for their issue immediately in the coming races. Meanwhile, the Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko shares similar thoughts.

In past also Mercedes had a poor car in the pre-season but they significantly improved the car within weeks to dominate the season. But this didn’t turn out to be the case this season, as the Silver Arrows don’t have many resources to spend due to the cost cap.

The Red Bull advisor doesn’t believe Mercedes to make a miraculous and fast comeback this season, like in the past. Marko reported, “The Mercedes teams are no longer used to the fact that they can no longer turn a button in terms of the engine and can immediately stage a party time.”

The Brackley base is currently working on the W13 to improve it for future races and they are especially working on the issue with porpoising.
