British Formula 1 racer and 6 time World Champion Lewis Hamilton shared a memorable video on Instagram. The message was directed towards his fans and he thanked them for all the support that has been bestowed upon him.

Crazy how much has changed since then. Just want to take this moment to thank all of you for supporting me, I know there’s some of you who have followed my career since the very beginning and even to those are just joining #TeamLH today, I want to say thanks. It means the world to know we have a growing family here. Sending you all love and positivity, Hamilton said.

The video was from the year 1998 when Hamilton was growing up the ranks in Karting. Lewis Hamilton had a “meteoric rise” in karting. Rising up the ranks one by one, he was face to face with one of the best in business in the Larkhall Circuit.

His splendid form grabbed quite a few eyeballs and everyone anticipated how he would fare in the Larkhall track. On a rain-drenched circuit, it was quite a test for Hamilton.  However, young and talented Hamilton was focussed on the race and he meant business from the very beginning. Tussling with some of the greatest at his level, Hamilton carried on with ease without feeling intimidated. After serious karting with poor visibility and wet tracks, he successfully clinched the first position.

More than two decades have passed since the Larkhall Circuit event. Hamilton grew from a young teenager to a major racing icon. Donning the Mercedes outfit, he won a series of World Championships and helped Mercedes dominate over other Constructors for almost a decade.

Hamilton has already surpassed Michael Schumacher’s record of 155 pole positions. He is on his quest towards his 7th World Championship, equalling Schumacher. The spectacular form he is in, it is only a matter of time before he breaks his record. Even though he has come a long way in his life, he is proud of his humble beginning and looks back on them as precious moments of his life.
