Lewis Hamilton has suffered many heartbreaking results in the past couple of seasons. The Brit has lost out on a championship and is left handicapped for the next one. Despite such scenarios, Lewis has not lost hope, persevering to find a glimpse of success with his team. However, this progress in the last few months might’ve given him a false sense of confidence against the mighty Red Bull of Max Verstappen. This is where the unforgiving nature of F1 stepped in and gave Hamilton a brutal reality check.

F1 expert and former Ferrari boss Peter Windsor analyzed Hamilton’s claims of matching Verstappen’s pace. The expert not only ridiculed the Mercedes man’s claims with data but also expressed his brutally honest personal opinion on his latest YouTube video.

Windsor revealed Verstappen’s lap times from lap 50 to lap 60. The Red Bull man was consistently in the 1:14:0s which was quicker than the Mercedes man. Windsor also looked at Hamilton vs. Verstappen in a different stint of the race from lap 27 to 36. In this comparison, the Red Bull man was again quicker despite Hamiton’s claims.

So after disregarding Hamilton’s claims, Windsor also revealed his opinion on the claims. He said, “I think there’s another point and that is Max for sure is driving with a lot in hand as well. I would imagine Lewis was pretty much flat out at that stage making up for the poor start of the race.”

“I think there’s no doubt Lewis probably could’ve matched and would’ve matched Perez. But like no way in the world he could’ve matched Max’s pace if Max was flat out,” he concluded.

Hamilton has been on attack since the start of the 2022 season. However, the Brit is yet to beat Verstappen on track so he went and attacked his lifestyle.

Lewis Hamilton digs in at Max Verstappen for his obsessive lifestyle

We have seen scenarios where Verstappen and Hamilton have showcased similarities and similar opinions. However, when it comes to lifestyle, the Brit isn’t a big fan of the newer generation’s obsessive lifestyle. It’s the obsession with all kinds of gaming which, for Verstappen at least, mainly includes rim racing. This obsession with racing is exactly what Hamilton criticized.

“They don’t do anything else most of the year apart from gaming and waking up and training! But I have all these other things that I’m doing at the same time,” said Hamilton while referring to the young ones on the F1 grid.

Now, for some, like Verstappen, sim racing is his way of unwinding and learning at the same time.
