Remember how Lewis Hamilton indulges himself in adventure sports during his time off racing? It is but natural for the adrenaline-craving F1 drivers to wish for the rush off the racing track. Well, this adrenaline is easily available off-track in the form of supercars. However, F1 drivers aren’t the only ones with access to supercars. So who was this billionaire turned GT3 driver that crashed Lewis Hamilton’s $11 million beast?

Recently, the news broke out that the super formerly owned by Lewis Hamilton met with a very serious crash. It was a Pagani Zonda that Hamilton bought back in 2014. It was a 1/1 Zonda 760 LH fitted with a custom 6-speed manual specially specced by Hamilton itself. The LH in the car’s name stands for Lewis Hamilton. The car produced 750 ponies from a 7.3L AMG V12.

Lewis Hamilton decided to sell that car a couple of years ago and was believed to be sold at a staggering amount of $11 million. While the car was wrecked, the new owner of the car was safe despite the intensity of the crash. So who was this guy? Hamilton sold the car to a British billionaire named Mark Radcliffe. Dailymail.co.uk suggests that Radcliffe owns Victorian Plumbing, the UK’s leading online retailer of bathroom fittings and accessories.

Radcliffe made most of the dollars from this business only. However, the Billionaire also has a keen interest in racing and races in the British GT3 series. He drives for the team Optimum Motorsports, with the choice of machinery being a McLaren 720s GT3 evo. Radcliffe recently won a race for his team in June. So by no means is the billionaire a bad driver. However, the Pagani even caught the 7X champion Hamilton out when he crashed the car.

What are the details of Lewis Hamilton’s Pagani wrecked by Mark Radcliffe?

Pagani’s are generally amongst the list of the most beautiful sounding cars in the world. And that is exactly what Hamilton said about his car. However, the Briton also added, “The Zonda is terrible to drive! It’s the best-sounding car I own, but handling-wise it’s the worst.” If a 7x world champion is suggesting so, then it must be true. Was this handling deficit what caused the crash? It’s suggested that the conditions were damp and that the crash bumped into one wall before doing a 360 and bumping into the other one.

According to DailyMail, a witness said, “It was making a really loud booming noise as it overtook. There was a light rain and the surface may have been slippery. I watched as the car sped into the tunnel and then he seemed to suddenly lose control. He hit one wall, span round into the other, which he bounced off before finally coming to a halt.”
