As an F1 fan, if you had to pick one driver from the paddock, present or past, who you think would be the most well-dressed, who would you pick? For most fans, it just happens to be Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion doesn’t cease to turn heads whenever he’s on the paddock, thanks to his bold fashion choices. He is unapologetically himself and has constantly professed self-expression through the outfits he wears, which is exactly what he did at the British Fashion Awards 2023. He donned a regal Wales Bonner outfit at the BFA, which was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
So, when Essence announced that he was one of the “Best-Dressed Men of 2023”, it came as no surprise to anyone. Not only has he sported some incredible outfits this year, but he has also contributed a lot to the world of fashion.

Recently, fashion website Essence released their list of “Best-Dressed Men of 2023,” and the Brit was included in it. Here’s what Essence said to justify them picking the seven-time world champion. “You’ll often see the driver in the front row at Fashion Week wearing bold and colorful outfits by brands like Off-Whilte and Valentino. His Grand Prix entrances are our favorite part of the racing sport. Hamilton has created a space for fashion in F1 by expressing himself through his style.”
For die-hard F1 fans, though the racing might take more precedence, a lot of the fans also absolutely love Lewis Hamilton’s grand entrances for the race weekend and his overall fashion sense. In fact, #LH44Fashion is quite the mainstay on Instagram.
He was not the only man to be awarded this honor though, as the list featured several other celebrities like Usher, A$AP Rocky, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II also made the list. Each of these individuals also expressed themselves boldly in 2023, and according to Essence “showcased the meaning of personal style while uplifting the art of getting dressed.”
Our seven-time world champion, however, takes it to a whole new level. Not only does he dress well, he also has contributed a lot to the world of fashion.

The Mercedes driver is not the type of person to shy away from wearing outfits designed by mainstream designers. However, very frequently, he is also known to wear and promote clothes designed by up-and-coming designers, putting a giant spotlight on these creatives. The seven-time champ does not stop here.
A table at the Met Gala costs somewhere around $250,000! Unless you’re an established designer who has a lot of money in the bank, the Gala would usually be a distant dream. Understanding this, Lewis Hamilton sponsored a table for up-and-coming black designers like Edvin Thompson, Kenneth Nicholson, and Jason Rembert.
