The seven-time Formula 1 world champion is well known for his business ventures. And one of the most recent business ideas took Lewis Hamilton into the world of spirits. Teaming up with Mexican spirits group Casa Lumbre, the British driver recently unveiled Almave, a groundbreaking ‘non-alcoholic spirit’ crafted from Blue agave. It’s a departure from his usual tequila-filled celebrations, signaling a new chapter in Lewis Hamilton’s diverse business portfolio.
This move from the Formula 1 champion introduces a novel beverage option for those moments when alcohol is not the answer. However, Almave is not just another non-alcoholic beverage. It’s a carefully crafted spirit that maintains the distinct agave flavor and character of its alcoholic counterparts. The product lineup includes Almave Ámbar, a distilled non-alcoholic Blue Agave Spirit designed for sipping, and Almave Blanco, another distilled non-alcoholic Blue Agave Spirit tailored for mixing. Now that the brand has taken off, Hamilton couldn’t help but become a little introspective.

The Brit’s journey into the spirits industry was prompted by a realization of a gap in the market. Despite being a tequila enthusiast himself, he recognized the growing trend of people choosing to abstain from alcohol but still craving the rich and authentic taste associated with traditional spirits. Almave aims to cater to this niche audience, providing a sophisticated solution for those who want to enjoy the flavor without the intoxicating effects.
In a recent post on LinkedIn, the Mercedes driver opened up about the genesis of Almave, acknowledging the uncertainty that comes with venturing into unexplored realms. He shared, “Just one month ago, ALMAVE was introduced to the world, and with bottles now in the hands of our community, I’m continuously reminded why we started this company. Thank you to everyone posting and sharing their experiences with Almave. It really means the world.” He expressed gratitude for the positive response, emphasizing the importance of having the right partners on this exciting journey.
“It’s my first time in this space, and there’s always uncertainty when building something new. I’ve learned to not expect to get it right the first time. I must’ve tried countless variations of the Ámbar before landing on the right one,” wrote Lewis Hamilton. Working closely with master distiller Iván Saldaña Oyarzábal and the entire team, the Formula 1 legend highlighted the significance of having the right collaborators who understand the market and the essence of the agave plant.
However, this is just one of his many business ventures. Over the years, Lewis Hamilton has built a strong portfolio of businesses aligned with his morals and values.
Some of the other big investments made by Hamilton
While the 38-year-old Brit has made headlines countless times for his prowess on the racetrack, his ventures off the asphalt are equally as impressive. His business acumen extends to various domains, showcasing a diverse portfolio of investments and ventures. One notable venture is ‘Neat Burger,’ a vegan burger joint co-owned by Hamilton and Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio. The Briton has also made strides in the entertainment industry by joining the production team of an upcoming F1 movie starring Brad Pitt. Additionally, Hamilton has invested in TMRW Sports, a sports media and entertainment company founded by golf icons Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Lewis Hamilton also holds a minority stake in the NFL team Denver Broncos. The tequila business adds another layer to his diverse business portfolio. It also brings him into competition with fellow athlete-entrepreneur LeBron James, who also has a tequila brand named Lobos. In an interview with robbreport.com, Lewis Hamilton explained that Almave is designed for those who “don’t want to drink alcohol but also don’t want to compromise on flavor.” This unique positioning sets Almave apart in a market saturated with traditional alcoholic spirits.
