George Russell has expressed keen anticipation for the upcoming Grand Prix in Mexico, hinting at a confident shot at the podium. Despite securing a top-three finish only once this year at the Spanish Grand Prix, Russell remains undeterred and optimistic about his prospects in Mexico.

Russell reflects on a roller-coaster of a season, but regardless of past performances, he’s heading into the October 29 race with renewed enthusiasm, convinced of his car’s prowess to bag a top position.

“We come to Mexico excited.”

“Mexico is an atypical circuit, you don’t want your car to be at its best here.”

While Mexico is known for its unconventional circuit – where optimal car performance isn’t necessarily advantageous given its departure from the norm – Russell is unfazed. His commentary subtly sidelines the fact that this race is Sergio Perez’s home event, making it all the more intriguing.
