The intensity and drama that ensued during the 2021 F1 season as Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton battled it out has ensured that even when they aren’t exactly competitors, there will always be a battle raging on. While both Hamilton and Verstappen haven’t come together on the track ever since that fateful night in Abu Dhabi, their fans have a habit of fighting each other on their behalf.

This year, Max Verstappen has been a cut above the rest of the field. Many would even conclude that what the Dutch lion has been doing this season would even put to shame Hamilton’s day in the sun. The 2x champion is busy re-writing history as Lewis Hamilton languishes in the sorry midfield of Formula 1. A fan of the 38-year-old hopelessly tried to find solace for Hamilton by making a bizarre comparison. “Lewis Hamilton outfit post vs Max Verstappen race win post. Guess which one got more likes.” Safe to say, a particular Verstappen fan was having none of that!

He promptly and brutally replied, Won’t get his 8th title I’m afraid.

Sky Sports F1’s Ted Kravitz explained why. He said, “To come within a lap of the eighth championship and then potentially… he might not ever win it. Michael Schumacher wasn’t able to win an eighth, Lewis Hamilton hasn’t been able to win an eighth – is there something in the stars about an eighth world championship?”
