Red Bull and Mercedes have been the two dominant forces in F1 for over a decade and a half. The constant surge for power ensures that Red Bull and Mercedes keep fighting like cats and dogs and land a scratch at every possible opportunity. Toto Wolff has been the main aggressor from the Brackley side to keep the banter hot off late. Nonetheless, Toto Wolff’s endless micro aggression toward the dominant Max Verstappen was diminished by a former Ferrari boss as he unleashed fury at the Mercedes CEO. What did he say?

Max Verstappen surpassed Sebastian Vettel’s record for the most consecutive F1 victories by winning the Italian GP, the Dutchman’s 10th consecutive win. While Max Verstappen won’t be stopping anytime soon, Toto Wolff decided to disrespect the Dutchman’s achievement by advising that his record is just some stat for the Wikipedia page. The Mercedes CEO was met with backlash from the Red Bull team for this statement and now the ex-Ferrari manager.

Peter Windsor has always been full of praise for Max Verstappen as he acknowledges the 2X champion’s talent and skills. As he was asked what he makes of Toto Wolff’s disrespect towards Verstappen’s achievement, Windsor advised that such comments from Wolff’s side suggest that he doesn’t have much knowledge about F1. The comments must’ve hit Wolff hard as he is CEO of an F1 team and owns ⅓ of it.

According to Peter Windsor’s YouTube video, he said, “If Toto has been detracting from Max’s job, then I’m afraid that we have to conclude that Toto doesn’t know very much about Formula 1, specifically about F1 drivers or driving. Because all the variables I mentioned are all in the palm of Max Verstappen.”

As we mentioned, Peter Windsor isn’t the only one to slam Toto Wolff for disregarding Max Verstappen’s achievement. Let’s see how the Red Bull team members came back at the Mercedes CEO.

Christian Horner was the first one to take a stand for Max Verstappen after Toto Wolff’s comments. Horner advised that no one should detract from what Max Verstappen has achieved. One must recognize and applaud what the Dutchman is doing. However, Helmut Marko didn’t hold back like Horner and replied to Toto Wolff’s disrespect with a huge slam dunk statement by advising that Wikipedia is one of the most read platforms.

Helmut Marko told Servus TV, “Wikipedia is one of the most read mediums — maybe someone can tell Wolff that. We go about our business without making up all these sorts of stories like they do. But we won’t worry about Mercedes, Wolff, or Hamilton until they become a serious rival for us again.”
