But here’s the scoop: Verstappen’s magic, as hypnotic as it is on the tracks, has an expiration date. No one’s pulling endless bunnies from F1 helmets, right? Or can Verstappen?

A visit to the Mercedes factory would get anyone’s hopes high, and it did precisely that for Lewis Hamilton. One look at the development of the W15, and Hamilton was all smiles, faith, and fight. His rallying cry was clear: “We’ll be coming back. We can do it. The next step to the top podium will come. And just to add to the Hamilton love, he was all praises for the team after his factory visit: “I think what excites me is just going into where the aerodynamicists, the whole team, they’re working away. That’s what inspires me… Everyone’s unhappy with where we are and where we’ve been for the past couple of years.”

“I know they’re hungry and that, for me, I’m like, ‘OK, these guys I know they’re chasing, they’re doing absolutely everything they can’. So I have 100 percent faith in them and they’ll put it together.”
