Liberty Media supposedly asked Red Bull to get a competitive driver alongside Max Verstappen next year. So that even if their car is as dominant as the current one, at least the two teammates will compete against each other. However, now Lewis Hamilton has come out and belittled Max Verstappen’s dominance as he fired an insult at Sergio Perez and Co. What did Hamilton say?
Is Verstappen missing something that Lewis Hamilton always had?

Amid this, Hamilton took a shot at Perez by explaining how Max Verstappen never had a teammate as competitive as Lewis Hamilton had in the form of Valtteri Bottas.

According to @RBR_Daily’s Tweet, Lewis Hamilton said “In my personal opinion, Valtteri and all my teammates have been stronger than the teammates Max has had.”
Sergio Perez must’ve been hurt by this statement. Lewis Hamilton is essentially implying that Bottas was better than Checo and that Verstappen doesn’t have any challenge whatsoever within the team, whereas Hamilton did.
Even Toto Wolff was left in a confused state after seeing the gap between Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Wolff then took a jab at Red Bull as he defended Sergio Perez.

Red Bull is known for building the car around their No.1 driver, which is Max Verstappen. Even Sergio Perez recently advised how the car is getting away from him and he has to actively drive the car rather than it coming subconsciously to him. That alone would explain the gap. Toto Wolff however defended Perez and advised how he’s not an idiot. He also explained how the gap is unusual.
Wolff suggested that Checo is a good driver. According to @formularacers_’s tweet, Toto Wolff said, “The difference with Perez is bizarre, and Checo isn’t an idiot. I cannot understand it.”
