Max Verstappen is frighteningly good at racing right now. And supporting him is Red Bull with the quickest car on the grid. The synergy has scaled such heights that it will take a monumental effort from his arch-rival, Lewis Hamilton to even attempt the road to dethroning him. Hence, the 7x champ has been going all out in his attempts to rattle Verstappen. He was also accused of lobbying with the FIA. But that take has now been overturned.
The RB19, designed by Adrian Newey is nearly perfect in all aspects. Moreover, the Dutchman has been making full use of its capabilities to rack up multiple consecutive victories. To reduce their might, Hamilton apparently lobbied with the FIA to get them to introduce regulations that would slow them down. However, former Ferrari manager, Peter Windsor reckons that the Briton has no such shrewd plan in place.
On his YouTube channel, Windsor said, “I am not going to put words in Lewis’ mouth. But for example, he doesn’t like the Pirelli tires, the system that we have, and the compounds, and always having to wait for them to go off. He probably doesn’t like the cars big and heavy. He probably wants them to be much lighter and nimble.”

“There’s a million things he doesn’t like. Quite an amount of context and you’ll get Lewis Hamilton supposedly lobbying for different regs (regulations). I think he’s just being a racing driver. I’d take that with a pinch of salt because a lot of the drivers are quoted out of context.”
The Mercedes racer has received good support from an expert who knows what the F1 world holds for drivers. Nonetheless, this has been balanced out by a former F1 world champ going against Hamilton’s words.

Ahead of the Italian GP, Lewis Hamilton made a comment saying that Max Verstappen‘s victories weren’t meritorious. He explained, saying that the Dutchman has never had any competent teammates like he did when he was dominating the sport for 8 years. His claims, however, have been put to rest by Jenson Button.
“I think Lewis has had some very tough team-mates. He’s had World Champions as team-mates, whereas Max hasn’t,” Button explained on Sky Sports News, agreeing at first. “But for me, I would be more fearful going up against Max in the same car – and I think it is because the car is designed around his style, or he can drive a car that Adrian Newey gives him.”

Agree or not, Red Bull and Verstappen are operating on another level compared to their rivals. And their dominance is here to stay, at least, till the rule changes in 2026.
