Ever since Nicholas Latifi’s departure from the F1 grid this season, George Russell has become the most ‘meme-worthy’ person on the grid. Be it the hilarious T pose from the F1 theme song, or the “George Russell is the type of guy….” fans have created a whole new set of memes around the English superstar.

Mercedes‘ social media team is absolutely loving it as well. Not only have they consistently revealed other sides of Russell, but they recently shared a clip from Brazilian GP’s driver’s parade. This video featured yet another meme-worthy moment, leading to fans giving him the title of “walking, sitting, standing meme.”

Often, F1 drivers are looked upon as superhumans. The amount of public pressure that they go through, apart from the extreme physical toll the sport takes on them, one can easily be forgiven for thinking so. However, one has to realize that at the end of the day, they are also human beings, most of whom are in their 20s.

George Russell’s human moment showed during the driver’s parade. As he was adjusting his position on top of a convertible, his iPhone slipped from his hand. Like everyone else in this situation, Russell’s heart immediately skipped a beat. Another person quickly grabbed the phone and passed it on to the Brit.

The Mercedes driver immediately inspected the phone, checking for scratches. Immediately, he noticed that the phone was as good as new, and breathed a sigh of relief.

This is where the memeable moment came, as George then gave the “OK” sign, with a comical look on his face. Naturally, fans across different social media platforms loved it.

Fans react to another meme-worthy moment from George Russell

Instagram and Twitter were immediately filled with hilarious reactions. One fan, replicating Michael Masi’s famous quote, said No George no, this is so not right, where’s the phone cover???

Many other fans were also quick to notice the lack of a protective case, as comments like “I swear none of the drivers have cases on there phones 😭😭,” began to surface.

Some fans worried more about the car than the phone. “Let’s be honest. We worried for the car.” Twitter users also chipped in with their hilarious comments.

Other than this, George Russell had a forgettable Brazilian GP. His DNF and the Silver Arrows car’s lack of pace would definitely be on the back of his mind, going into Las Vegas. With the track touted to be cold, drivers, especially on that Mercedes, might be struggling for grip.
