When Epic Games released the battle royale shooter in 2017, no one expected it to take the world by storm the way it did. But the game has lots of similarities with the seven-time world champion, with the fact that it’s sustained record-breaking numbers for as long as one can remember. The game treats its players with an overload of nostalgia from a throwback season, which transformed the game to an earlier version.

And Lewis Hamilton decided this was the perfect time to announce he would be a part of the game’s icon series of avatars, which are in-game cosmetic skins that represent celebrities, athletes and stars. The Brit took to Instagram to reveal a video trailer for his Fortnite skin, which also featured his adorable bulldog, Roscoe! Hamilton has long been a spokesperson for the Black community and looks up to Chadwick Boseman as a true example of excellence, which is why his avatar takes design inspiration from the Black Panther.

Fortnite fans and the LH Army joined hands in the comments section to freak out over how adorable Roscoe looks on the glider in front of Hamilton’s avatar. The collab was a hit with the Briton’s family as Nicolas Hamilton also joined in to comment, “This is sick! 🔥. We’ve seen several collaborations from Fortnite and Lewis Hamilton, but to see them join forces to deliver an exciting in-game item for the Fortnite-F1 fans was an unexpected but welcome surprise. The Vegas GP has given fans a lot more action off-track than anyone would have anticipated!

After a gruelling season that has seen Mercedes barely holding on to the second place in the constructor’s title, Lewis Hamilton was keen on winding down. He was quoted by GPfans, “But, of course, I am going to unplug; I have to leave the guys to do what they do best. But I’m always going to be like ‘Hey, I wonder how it’s going?'”

Even though Lewis Hamilton has done everything in his power to get the W14 on the podium, the eight-time constructor’s champions feel a sense of urgency to get back to winning ways. However, they need not be so harsh on themselves, as Hamilton added, “But you’ve just got to give them time. It takes time to develop. It’s small steps each week. And then, on top of that, I’ve got to get my head in the right place. I’ve got to get fit, prepare for the next season and spend some time with my family. It’s been a killer season.”
