Way before Lewis Hamilton became a Hollywood producer and invested his money in the upcoming Apple movie, the Brit had his connections with the industry. He may have done a cameo in the animated movie Cars, but he was close to his real Hollywood debut but chose F1 over Top Gun. Since then, we have seen glimpses of the Mercedes man toasting the movie franchise with souvenirs and we have another one on the list.
We saw a glimpse in a past event in Dubai where the Brit was donning an IWC Schaffhausen pilot watch worth a whopping $41k. Expressing his love for watches and the movie, the Brit teased another brilliant timepiece on his Instagram story, which reminds us of Top Gun once again.

The Brit recently posted two back-to-back stories of him donning the new IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Top Gun Mojave. The sand-coloured ceramic watch shouts Maverick and the dessert finish on the watch would remind anyone of the US Navy. In fact, the Instagram post revealing the watch, which retails at $12,500, revealed in the caption that’s exactly what has inspired the color.

“The new Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Top Gun Mojave (Ref. IW389402) marks the first 41-millimeter Pilot’s Chronograph with a sand-coloured ceramic, an earthy hue inspired by the flight suits of naval aviators and the desert landscape around China Lake, home of the U.S. Navy’s TOPGUN flight school,” read the caption.

The Brit definitely did justice to the watch as he posed for it in his all-black outfit as seen on his stories. Perhaps he would do that to a role in the Top Gun franchise as well. This time he won’t even prioritize F1.

The Brit is a massive fan of the original franchise of Top Gun, as he has revealed in the past. So when he was offered a role in the movie, he was over the moon, but the thorough professional in him stopped him from abandoning F1 and preparing for the role. However, if this opportunity knocks on his door twice, he won’t think twice. In fact, this time, the Brit will even miss a race if he has to.
“I’ll wait for my proper movie debut because I’m going to need to train and practice because I don’t want to suck at it,” Hamilton said. “If Top Gun 3 ever happens, I’m going to be in it, and I will miss a race for it, just so you know. I’m not going to give up that chance next time.”
