Goodbyes are kind of difficult for us humans to process. Especially when you’re saying it to the ones you have a special relationship with. And Lewis Hamilton will bid farewell to Mercedes at the end of 2024, a relationship that has lasted over a decade and gave him some of the best memories of his life. And so, it’s natural for him to get emotional about it as he gears up for his last season with the Brackley-based squad. Everything that he’ll be doing for the final time with Mercedes will remind him of the success and the good times he’s had there. However, he is still as determined as ever to help his team get back to the top.
A recent tweet from Junaid Samodien gave us a glimpse of what’s going on in the head of the 7-time world champion as he starts the first race week of the season. “Nothing really changes. I was back at the factory on Monday, everyone is all hands on deck. I’ve been with this team for such a long time. There is so much love in the team. I will always love this team. Everyone knows that I am here to deliver for the team… There will be many emotional experiences throughout the year, the last test, the last seat fit, but we will experience it together,“ said Hamilton.
