Lewis Hamilton’s Brother Nicolas Falls Short of Words as Heartfelt Tribute to Mother Linda Turns Emotional

Although, as it turns out, these values were instilled in the Brit from birth by his parents. We know that now with both Lewis and his brother Nicolas Hamilton achieving the things they’ve achieved despite their disadvantages. Moreover, Nicolas Hamilton proved it with his detailed yet heartfelt message for his mother Linda in his latest Instagram post.

For the unaware, Nicolas Hamilton was born with cerebral palsy (CP), a condition that hampers a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. Despite being born with CP and told he would never be able to walk or run, Nicolas, after being inspired by his brother, took on racing and is a full-time BTCC driver and successful one at that. However, not just Lewis, his stepmother Linda was also a big part of Nicolas’ support system and that is exactly what he has detailed and expressed gratitude for in the caption of the Instagram post.

The caption read, “Mumma Linda, words cannot express how grateful & proud I am to call you my Mumma. I came into this world as your only son, who was born on the back foot with a physical condition. I can only imagine the physical & mental struggle you had to endure to keep pushing through daily with a condition that you knew nothing about, with no information to go from & yet you stayed positive.”

“I always thought that I continued to persevere daily, to prove the world what can be achieved with a disability. But only recently I realised that I continue to persevere to ensure that the disabled son you gave birth to & devoted your whole life to, succeeds in an able-bodied world. From buggy, to wheelchair, to walking, to Top 6 BTCC finisher, we made it Mumma. Thank you for all you are ❤️,” he concluded.

We already know what Nicolas Hamilton has achieved with his condition is extraordinary. Now we know who was his support system through this difficult journey thanks to this heartfelt message. There is no doubt Lewis was part of Nicolas’ journey throughout his rise through the racing series. However, this unwavering support became a curse for Nicolas because many started drawing comparisons with the Mercedes man. This scenario made life of Nicolas “really hard” as he found his footing in the BTCC.

He made this confession while talking to the media and said, ”Ever since I’ve started racing, it’s been hard because people compare me to Lewis and say I’m only there because he’s a multimillionaire. He’s still a massive reason why I’m as strong as I am and why I’m out of my wheelchair. I’m still his No 1 fan. Lewis and my dad [Anthony], he has been the anchor for the whole family. But it’s been really hard being related to Lewis and trying to carve my own career in motorsport.“
