Remember how Lewis Hamilton has advised multiple times that he will stay loyal to Mercedes and that he’s been with the team ever since he was 13? It’s understandable why Lewis Hamilton says this. After all, it was with Mercedes that Lewis Hamilton won a bulk of championships, 6 to be precise. However, Toto Wolff now opens the floodgates for Lewis Hamilton’s exit with a surprising confession just days after the Brit signed a new contract worth $127 million. What did the Mercedes CEO say?
Lewis Hamilton, after a flurry of rumors around his F1 future finally announced his foreseeable future with Mercedes as he signed a 2-year contract extension worth $127 million. However, Lewis recently advised that he’s already thinking about his future past 2025. While he assures that he sees himself at Mercedes only, there’s still some uncertainty and doubt in the air.

Amid all this, Toto Wolff has dropped a bomb of a confession on Hamilton’s Mercedes future post-2025. As Wolff talked about the two-year deal and why Hamilton didn’t sign a longer one, Wolff advised that it’s for the benefit of both parties if they stay together. However, he didn’t rule out the possibility of the Briton moving to another team as he suggested that he wouldn’t stop the Brit if he wanted to move teams.

According to Silverarrows.net, Toto Wolff told Sky Sports F1, “Like a very famous football coach once told me, if a good player wants to go elsewhere then he’s never stopped him going elsewhere. So, when somebody wants to move either the team or the driver then you’ve just got to move.”
Regardless of whether Hamilton stays with Mercedes post-2025 or leaves, the Briton revealed his goals for the new deal that he has signed with Mercedes. Let’s see what they are all about.

Lewis Hamilton aims to dethrone Max Verstappen and Co.
We know Lewis Hamilton is eager to win his 8th title and achieve his ultimate dream. However, Max Verstappen has been the dominant force in recent years and is the one running away with championships. As Hamilton signed a new deal with Mercedes, he gave insights into what his plans are for the upcoming two years. The Brit advised he is focused on winning his 8th title and bringing Mercedes back to the top step while dethroning Max Verstappen and Co. from that spot.

According to Sky Sports, Lewis Hamilton said, “The goal within those two years is 100 percent to be fighting and win a world championship. We are second in the constructors’ championship right now and we want to dethrone those who are at the top. I have 100 percent faith that we can do that.”
